98 Mitsubishi Galant Tuning

I have bought a '98 Mitsubishi Galant a month ago and tried to find some performance parts for it.
So for, I did not have a lot of luck except for finding an intake-mass airflow adapter.

My question is, what kind of tuning and mods can be done to it's type of engine - 4g64.
What would be recommended to do first and what's not a smart thing to do?
Any kind of help would be great since I don't kno anybody who has a modified galant.

would it be possible to swap the engine in a 98 galant take the 4g64 out and put in 4g63t
let's say for example put a 1998 eclipse gst/gsx engine?

Yes and it would also be leagle. As long as the engine is from the same year and newer. You would probably also have to swap the whole wiring harness and make a few adapters for various galant parts that you might need to kept. You will also have to use the ECU out of the same year or style car as well. That would mean you can use a 98-99 ECU. I think the ECU changed in 98 so a 95-97 won't work. But I might be wrong on the ECU. I don't have a 2G yet so I don't retain 2G info as well. LoL
