Ottawa,
Im just waiting on a few things and some nice weather and me and my friend are goin race:shhh:
Ok My Question is do you think I will win or lose?

2003 Maxima: automatic, intake
My Eclipse98GST: 5spd, Intake

I just got the car about a month ago and have only raced once, I dont know the car that well but Im pretty comfortable.

What do you guys think?

If it is the V6 model you might have some trouble even though it auto. I'm pretty sure the 5 speeds run around 14.3.

Edit: N/M they didnt make a 4 banger in 2003, you might have trouble.

Good luck, regardless. :thumb:

They run 14.7 with a 5-speed, not 14.2

Maxima

The auto's should be good for low 15s, with a good driver GS-T's have touched 14.7 bone stock, if it is from a roll you will win, no contest.

Never was a 4banger Maxima. Maximas were always V6. By the way don't under estimate a Maxima, those cars come fast off the factory line. Too bad they are not much aftermarket/mods for them.

BTW.. Maxima motor is the same motor as the 300ZX without the turbo. They had this guy who took one to 500hp on stock internals.

Ya I got confused between Altima and Maxima. The Altima has the same V6 or a 2.5 4 cylinder. Launch good and get good shifts and you'll take him.

P.S. I heard 14.3 from an Maxima owner

GST>maxima.....even though you have the heaviest fwd model(97-99 gst wiegh 2950 vs. 2750-2800 for 95-96) youll destryoy him on the top end...oh and never underestimate a car. Last time I did it was a sh*tbox at the track that ran a 12.1 vs my 14.9**

I think that you should learn your car before he gets you.

They are NO pushover. You will have your hands full, but should pull it out.

And as for the engine..... It is the same 3.5 liter that is used in almost ALL of the Nissan/Infiniti cars that are putting down some good power. It was rated one of the 10 best engines made. They are a great platform.

well when I first had my car I raced my friends 02 maxima and he got me by like 2 cars we were both stock and both five speed. those things pull pretty good. And the engine in the maxima is shared by the 350z, infinity g35, infinity q45 I think, and the v6 altima.
