Ok me and a buddy have been working on a friends car and i helped him do the Head Gasked and Tming Belt because they were both bad, so we get em all back together i left after we got the timing belt and stuff on, We made sure the timing marks were lined up and then he called me later in the evening and said it backfires and theres no spark on plug 4 apperently.

A common problem with those motors is the coil pack, but it is weird that it started doing it after the t belt swap.

I would go in again, and double check that the timing marks are lines up, as it sounds like the timing is off.

Apparently he figured it out the timing was off 180 Degrees.

Thanks for all your help :)
