97 talon speed sensor?

i have a 97 talon ESI and the speedometer/ odometer doesnt work. i have changed the vehicle speed sensor, the nylon gear appears in good condition and still nothing. not even a flutter. any suggestions?

make sure you try checking the wires connecting to the cluster the best that you can, there might be a short.. it is also possible that you may need a new computer, this is a problem on alot of the 420a

Yes Mines speedo was going crazy one day driving at a steady speed then completely dropped to 0 and didnt work at all..I then disconnected the battery and ECU for an hour and when i hooked it all back up I WORKED!
So id try that if you havent already, but my also on my second ECU on this420a. the first computer has a few problems and the speedo actin all wacko was one.

Sounds to me like there is a short or a open in the circuit. Find a wiring diagram and test for continuity or resistance between the harness plug for the sensor and the speedo.
