97 Spyder GST Windshield Wiper Problem

I am beginner when it comes to cars and I was hoping that you guys can help me with a problem that I am having with the windshield wipers in my vehicle.

The windshield wipers in my vehicle don't function on the high speed position. They only work in the low and medium position. When I have the wipers on in medium or low sometimes after a few minutes of use they will freeze and stop working. No matter what I do, the windshield wipers won't move back to the original position even If I switch the speeds around. Sometimes they start working again after a while but the times is always different.

I was wondering what could cause this behavior and what steps I should take to diagnosed/fix this problem? Thank you for your time.

I'd start by checking all the wiring, make sure you don't have any loose or frayed wires and make sure the fuse for your wipers is seated properly. If you don't see anything wrong try replacing the wiper motor

I would start by getting a haynes manual so it can tell you the right resistance at the wiper switch but you are going to need a multimeter if you dont have one.

Thanks for all the responses. I have bought a multimeter and will go ahead and check all these things out this weekend. I will post back with results.

Check all the fuses/ relays and wiring. Usually if the wipers are not returning to the park position the problem is in the wiper motor or the hot wire to the wiper motor.

Thank you all for taking the time to help me out. The issue lied with a faulty wiper motor. The motor was replaced and the high speed position on the wiper blades now work fine. I haven't tested it in continuous usage but since the high speed wasn't working before, my guess is that it will work fine.
