I have a 97 GSx I would like to lower 1.5 inch or so and the only springs that I have been able to find is Eibach and Tein that have a dedicated spring just to the GSX model all the other companies are cheaper on there springs but say they work for GS/gsx/GST, I know this cant be right because it takes a different spring. I will buy the eibachs if I have too I was just wondering if anyone new of something cheaper I could buy thats specifically for the 2g GSX, thanks.:dsm:

Prokits + Illuminas
H&R OE + Illuminas
or
Prokits + Koni Yellows (sports)
H&R OE + Koni Yellows (sports)

Ground Control coilovers would also be a great choice, actually, the best choice but they're about $100 more.

I have progress sport springs on my gsx. They drop 1.5" they have been very good to me. No complaints, however whatever you get, MAKE SURE TO GET SHOCKS.

And I will not recommend tokico blue hp shocks. Apparently they are like stock replacements, just a bit better. et illuminas, yellows, agx. I plan to go with illuminas or agx

I have had a set of Tanabe DF210 springs on my 2g GST. It lowered the car just like a set of Eibach Sport Line. I have just converted it to AWD and the car still sits the same as for the ride, I'm not sure because the 6 bolt conversion isnt done yet. Tanabe also offers another set of spring for the 2gs called GF210, Grip Feeling. Here is a link to their spring page with more info.

i had the H&R springs on my 2g AWD and i hated them. I HIGHLY recommend the Tanabe GF210. It is my favorite lowering spring. Tein is ok too they just tend to sag a tiny bit after a while. Not a fan of Eibach either.

GSX spring rates are higher since it is the heaviest car of the group.

The GST/GSX springs are interchangeable, so you could buy GST springs and put them on your GSX but they will sag more over time.

Not true on 2G. 2G spring rates were the same for GST and GSX models. They were different on the 1Gs. Did a lot of searching around when choosing my suspension.

prostreetdsmx1, which springs did you have and what dampner were you using with it?

I choose the H&Rs over the Prokits for the higher spring rate, but if your looking more towards comfort than the Prokits may be better suited for the road. Here's a write up I did on the Koni/H&R combo. My requirements were a bit different.

I ended up getting the Tein's I got them for $130 shipped to the door, was that a pretty good deal you guys think? Brand new?

What aspect of the H&R springs did you not like? I am curious because I have thought about changing over to these.

uh...i have DF210 tanabe springs and they lower the car waaayy too much and ride sucks

so make sure they are the GF210 springs in you are interested in getting them.

I was referring to aftermarket spring rates being higher for the GSX vs. GST, but I see how it looked like I was comparing them stock......

They aren't stiff enough. Too bouncy for my liking. I got a set i would be happy to send you for cheap if you want them.

DF is definitely low. they are designed for those looking for a slammed look and actually hurt handling ability.

GF is designed to actually help handling.
