Sorry if this is a repost or if some how I missed this on my search.
For the last 2 days I can not get a real answere on what trans fluid to use or the amount of fluid needed for a trans filter and oil change.
I have read people using 7.4qts of fluid and the local auto shop tell's me 2.4qts..... I don't trust my local auto shop all that much because most of them are in fact stupid when it comes to DSMs or imports for that matter.
Please help.

Thank you.

Ok here is the problem. When I got my GSX it would run great a first, then it would slip and not move at all. I would shut the car off for about 5 seconds then restart the car and it would go into gear and drive for a little longer then feal like it would slip out again and I would have to repeat the prosses to get off the road.

I got the car home and did a filter and trans oil swap. (Incorrectly informed by Oriely Autoparts) that the amount of oil was 2.4qrts. So I dropped the pan replaced the filter. "no metal shavings in pan or on the magnets" Put the 2.4qrts in and added some Lucis trans no slip to the trans as well.

The car drove fine and didn't slip. ( I didn't even drive the car more than 50 miles over this time.) I still didn't feal right about the oil only being 2.4qrts and checked the fluid and it was not on the dip stick. So after finding out that there should be 7.4qrts I add the additonal 4qrts and added another 1/2 qrt of Lucis.

Now the car slips More than ever before and the trans is making noise. I turn the car off and put it into gear and it will move for about 15ft then slip out. It will all so seem like it is down shifting and slowing at low spead. 10-15mph.

Some one please help!:confused::confused:
