97-99 CAS on a 1g head

Can I use a 98-99 cam sensor that goes on the passenger side of the head, on a 6 bolt head?
or is there a way to wire in the 1g cam sensor to the 2g?
the 1g sensor is the black cap sensor not the green one.
I plan on using my 2g intake and exhaust mani's the only thing that i am worried about is the cam sensor and compatability issues, anyone have any insight for me it would be greatly appreciated.

first off i seen a thread talking about you being able to use the 2g cas on a 6bolt head but it takes alot of modification so it ends up not being worth it unless you you can tig weld pretty damn good. you can just buy the harness cable from rre for the 1g cas in a 2g or wire up your own from a 6bolt harness. second i wouldnt use a 2 g intake manifold on a 6bolt because the intake ports on the head are way bigger and that would #### with airflow. you can use your 2g exhaust manifold though.

you can use a 1g CAS on a 2g..you just need the harness

there is the magnus site, I couldnt find it on JNZ. Call JNZ, they sell them for cheaper than magnus because they dont have to ship from canada!

All you had to do was tap the cam for the cas bolt.....also putting that 2g intake on the 1g head is a bad idea fyi

If he is using a 1G head he dosent even need to do that. You only need to drill and tap the camshaft if you are trying to use a 1G or 97-99 CAS on a 95 or 96 head.

so if i use this am i going to get the misfire code and send the car into limp mode? do you know any good ways to avoid throwing that misfire code?

Do you have dsmlink? I have that harness with mine (1g cas on 2g head) and I don't believe it throws a code, but if you have dsmlink it wouldn't matter anyways as you can just get rid of it

hey whats up bro i dont have link in the eclipse i i have it in the talon the talon is a 95 the eclipse is a 98. you should just come up to lebanon and help me out bro cause. I have never done an engine swap and i need all the help i can get. haha
what do you think though i got it in one car and i dont drive the talon at all right now.

If you aren't going to have the talon running for a while why not put the 95 ecu and ecmlink in the eclipse until you save up to buy ecmlink for both cars?

thought about it, i guess i will have to get ahold of Will and have him come up and tune it, it is just gonna cost a lot of money he told me 150 for the first tune and 50 for every tune after that. so hope he can do a good one on the first tune..
what are you gonna be up to this weekend? me and one or two of my bud's will be throwing the 6 bolt in this weekend and I am thinking of having a bbq.
