96 Starts but only runs on 2 cylinders

ok ive got a chance to buy this car for 500 dollars its a non turbo but has a top end rebuild, car has lots of mods like header coil overs and such, question is the car wont stay running, it will start and die and sounds like its running on two cylinders, question is this car worth the money and how hard would it be to fix this problem, been along time since i had a DSM and it was a 1st gen.

Msgt please check your firing order on your coil pack you said nt so your running a 420 a motor

From left to right top to bottom it should be 1-3-4-2

The piston start on left as 1 2 3 4
