Hey guys. I recently picked up a 96 GS for next to nothing, but the owner told me it had jumped timing. Upon tearing into it, it had NOT skipped timing, but was in fact still perfect for timing. Found the spark plugs to be nothing short of shot, so i replaced them. I got it to start once after hours of fighting. there is spark, compression, and fuel. What it does will cough and act like it wants to fire when turning it over, but no go. If it does run on its own its only for a few seconds.
The car has been sitting for probably 6-7 months, and gas just smells old. I have a 10 Sec GSX, and know the 4g63 VERY well, but im clueless on the 420A. I dont think anything is wrong with the mechanics. However it does have 196k. Im thinking the only left to do is to take the injectors out and clean them up, and put some fresh fuel in. Might this solve my problem? I did get it to start and rev up and stay there as long as i held it above about 2800 rpm, below that it just sputtered and died, and wouldnt run that good again.
HELP 420A experts! it acts almost like a 4g63 with an IC pipe off, or the MAS unplugged.
