95 tsi Awd grinding noise when starting

Hello I was wondering has anybody ever resolved the issue regarding a grinding noise( from the starter) when trying to crank to start the car I got a new starter for my car it stopped making the noise the first few time I started it up and now yet again makes the noise sounds super bad I checked the teeth on the flywheel they seem fine not really sure what else it could be any ideas I'd appreciate it thanks

Had the car been swapped from auto to manual or the other way around. If so they have different starter alignment plates that must be swapped also, if not check the starter bolt holes for ware.
