just purchased a 95 GSX with 40000 miles on motor, trans, and transfer case. previous owner provided recipts for equipment straight from japan. however, everything is stock what are some good mods to start off with and where are some good online places to buy stuff from

first, i would start with a evo III big 16g. then, fuel upgrades. get yourself a walbro 255 with some 750cc injectors. if you have the money, get yourself a dsmlink. you wont regret it.

I would bring all the maintenance up to date first. Unless he provided receipts for proof.

First off, crankwalk is seriously overrated. Second, if the motor, trans, etc. came from Japan, it's possible that it's already been swapped to a 6-bolt. You need to find that out ASAP, as it will affect everything you do from here on out.


Third, there is a list of vendors, a list of vendor sales going on, and here's an upgrade path.

As I'm sure you're new at this, please research your car, what should be done first and foremost, and what is safe for your car to have done to it. Don't skimp on your modifications or upgrades, and do NOT forget the maintenance and supporting modifications. Upgrading your turbocharger or increasing boost requires fuel modifications. Fuel modifications require fuel control. Additional power requires additional engine monitoring, datalogging, and tuning upgrades. Follow the upgrade path, but make it your own. Any questions after you do some research, feel free to ask us.

Any chance you could throw up some pics of the car? Sounds like a nice set up. My advise would be to follow the upgrade path on here and the search feature here is great, use it, it has bailed me out several times!

I say buy a boost gauge and a air fuel ratio gauge FIRST! This is so that you can have a baseline of what the stock motor was before the mods start pouring in.

thanks for the help guys, i did a full tune up to the car first day i had it, champion iridium plugs, msd wires, full royal purple fluid swap(oil, tranny fluid, differential fluid)

use only ngk spark plugs bpr6es on u stock car.

I would go with NGK Copper Core plugs. Those iridium plugs are stupid IMO. These cars DO NOT NEED THEM. Especially not when they are stock.
