you'd need a 2g wiring harness.
 
Yes you can....but it is not plug and play. You would need to make some kind of connector with the ecu harness from a 2g and the ports from the 1g ecu. You will also need to re-wire the "mating harness" since the pinouts are not the same between generations. You will need to run a 2g knock sensor, and figure out a way to operate the fans. You will also need a 2g diagnostic port. It can be done, I have seen it first hand. But it is not a plug in and go deal.

I'm fairly sure you need a 2g mas/maf as well. I think very few people have done this, but there is a how-to write up floating around. The search button may help you out.
