I got a 93 talon es 4g63 non turbo with a 5-speed tranny. Timing belt blew vavles are bent. Also the crank is bad. I found a long block out of a 95 galant with a 2.4 4g64 sohc for cheap. Will it fit? Will my 5-speed tranny work with it? What would i need to make it work? Any info will help thanks.

Damn, I had a 94 es talon that bent 1 valve and that was it and I went all out and turbo'd it, ha. First thing is, before thinking about the engine fitting, how is the harness and ecu different? Fuel maps on computers will be very picky, injectors etc, I guess to start off is you should compare the differences between your 93 stock and this engine and surrounding components and go from there, if this didn't helP is because I am unaware of what galants have to offer in a vehicle, but willing to give my two cents. It's all about space and budget. As fOr trannies, maybe, clutch and flywheel? Unsure of.

Thanks. I can get a wiring harness and ecu out of 95 galant automatic. I heard that the 4g63 block is the same as the 4g64. The only difference is bore and stroke. Hopefuly it will bolt up to my tranny with just a 4g64 flywheel.

Does anybody know about the wiring and ecu?
