okay this is for my friend who has a 93 gs with the 1.8 SOHC motor and iv never really messed with these motors but he was going down the road and said he went to give it some gas and it started sputtering and just lost power and he said he shifted in to 3rd \and it died on him and has not ran after now when you turn the key the power works , radio lights etc.. but as soon as you turn the key everything cuts out and and the motor doesnt even try to turn over like i said iv never messed with these motors before but he wants to know if theres any ideas on what it could be and if not he just wants to swap it with a 4g63 6 bolt , thanks

Check alternater and battery.Just check all maintanance.

+1 on the batt and alt.

I had a 1.8 with 273k miles on it and it never gave me a problem, until the timing belt slipped off and all i did was line up timing marks on the side of the highway and drove it another 6k til i swapped a 6 bolt in... Then it was nothing but problems
