ok so i just found out last night that my DSM has a cracked block  , see this wouldnt be a problem but i still owe $4000 on the car. im in a dilema on what to do, any sugestions would be well appreciated. thanks fellow DSMers

Coup D E'Tat Forget the cracked block....how do you still owe 4,000 on a '92?

I'm with this guy... How much did you pay for the car...

Holy crap!!

You paid $4000+ for a 92 and didnt have it checked out??

Thats a problem in itself, unless of course it runs 10s.

well i bought the car for 3,200. i had to pull out a loan, so when i got the first bill the interest had it up to 5025.

I swear that sounds fishy, like state regulation fishy. Interest alone shouldn't nearly double the balance of the loan.

what the #### is your interest rate!! I got money that says I have credit cards with better rates. My last car loan was $3000 for 18 months (in college), I paid $65 in financing by the time it was done with.

You got ripped off, you got almsot a 40% interest rate, that is ILLEGAL, consult a lawyer and the police.

TG is quite right, I cannot impore you enough to get a lawyer. There are criminal and civil charges that can be filed in most states. There are legal limits on interest rates. Unless of course... you got the loan from a mob boss and not at a financial institution. If it's a banking instituion(FDIC Insured) they are in violation of agreements there as well.
