Pretty ugly.

Remove the booster and master cylinder. 4 nuts from inside near the pedal assembly.

Weld closed the holes that aren't being used anymore. Also welded the seam near the top of firewall.

Start with the body filler.

Then smooth it out.

Can't see the paint very well without the sunshine. This paint is worthy of a pic--

Last step- clear coat. I put 3 thick coats figuring it will need to be thick to take a beating. Final result:

Front suspension. What a nightmare. Picked up a True Street Fab tubular front K frame. This thing is JUNK. Welded tubes inside the mounting areas to support it from crushing when torqued to 80 ft.lbs. The slop in the mounting holes might have allowed it to bolt in without the added strength, but not anymore. I used this opportunity to align the holes with the mounting bolts.

Then I had to weld the control arms because they forgot to..

And instead of running the heim joint spacers, I had to just use shims because that was the only way they lined up:

Also, don't even think about running a manual rack: I had to make my own bushing.

Seriously not sure how anybody still sends that guy money for parts.

Deleted the booster. Used the plate from STM to mount on the firewall, and an MR527468 which came with the proportioning valves. Picked it up from a junkyard for under $30. 2002-2007 Lancer base model with automatic and no ABS. Wasted a lot of time and money messing around with master cylinders before I found out this was the one to use. Ran braided line to the front brakes and re-flared the rear brake lines for the newer style master cylinder. Used (2) Russell 640431 in the master cylinder to adapt to the -3 AN lines and (2) Russell 641431 in the calipers to adapt to the -3AN lines.
