'92 Talon VS. '88 Supra Turbo

A friend of mine bought an '88 Supra straight 6 turbo and since then I bought a '92 Talon non-turbo. He's been bragging about his Supra ever since he got it, even though the car's been totaled a couple of months ago and the engine's been pulled. We never got to race since he wrecked his car before I got mine, but he claims he's going to buy another one. I did some research on his car and his curb weight is a 1,000 pounds more than mine. He claims it has somewhere around 220-230 HP, even though his engine and turbo look pretty rough. I calculated our power to weight ratios based on what our cars were from the factory (since we can't really race ) and I figured that I would only need an extra 20 to 30 HP on a non turbo Talon to get an equal ratio to his 230 HP Supra. I was wondering if anyone's ever raced one of these and whether I really have a chance if he buys another one.

i used to own an 88 Supra turbo, and stock wise, they're just as fast as stock turbo DSMs. sorry to say but my money is on the Supra, unless you friend lacks driving skills and he gets one in bad condition.

Currently my car is non-turbo and I plan on putting on some high quality headers and a 3" ATR exhaust along with an Injen intake, but if I install a turbo kit, would I have chance then?

Stock for stock, his would probably run about a mid 15 sec. quarter. Yours would be a little over a second more, if both of your cars are in good condition.
