Ok guys.. I am new to the forum but not to dsms. . I'm looking to be trading my current vehicle for a 92 laser awd.. he says it has a rebuilt 1g with 1000 miles on engine. 105k on car. Well it has 272 cams, 550cc injs, aem fuel rail and regulator, 3inch turbo back, and a 50 trim turbo. Well my question is the said he upgraded from a t25 to the 50 trim and he thinks I should trailer it home because of the tune.. it has 3" gm maft, and safc. In I'm familiar with these tuners to an extent. If I drive it easy would it really matter? And it has wideband to so I can keep an eye on it. Iv asked a few people and just want some more opinions.

Thanks guys

it has 255 walbro (rewired)and, a chipped eprom if that makes any diffrence.. probably a few other mods I'm not thinkg of but those are the majors.

That's what he said.. may have been mistaken for 14b. That's what I figured. I just don't want to trade my well running car for one that "needs tuned" . And realize that the car is trashed when I get home. But thanks. Anyone with tips on tuning with them tuners would be nice. Iv played with them and understand them but not in detail.. my guess is it will be running alittle lean.

You will be fine driving it home just like fwdmaster said. When you have a car like these you may always run into things that you will have to do some tuning or work on something. If you are wanting to get a car like this you have to really know that it may require more effort than a normal daily driver. It is fun though tuning and making something out of nothing and seeing your progress over time.

Ask yourself this question before you trade your well running car for one that needs tuned.. Why doesn't the current owner tune the car himself?

Its probably a scam. He has everything in the car to tune it so why doesnt he? I would stay away or drop the price offer drastically

I agree with the above, why invest hundreds or thousands of dollars, and cheap out on a $300 tune? Something seems off. Sounds the car might be a can of worms you don't want to open, unless you have another car to DD that is...

Don't be drawn in by the mods. Usually it's more of a pain in the butt than it's worth. If he's got documentation of everything and proof of who installed it than it might be worth the gamble. But more than likely what happened was he threw all the stuff on and then couldn't get it to run right. Or he could have thrown it all on and not even started it so he has no idea how it will act when you start it up.

Hey guys. Checked it out a couple days ago. It didn't impress me. And its like a few of you where saying. If he really wanted to get rid of in why not tune it. He kept giving me excuses why he couldn't do it so I passed.
