91 tsi awd built but needs tuned should i buy it??

First let me introduce myself. I'm josh this is my first post here but, I am not necessarily new to dsm's. I owned a 1990 TSI AWD that just had basic bolt on's and a 16g. I sold that car and I am now in the position where I am looking to buy a car for my weekend/track car. I found this 91 with motor already built and a lot of other work done. I went to see the car, tested compression all was good. Went for a ride car idles great runs smooth and pulls hard until about 6k where it starts to break up. The owner says it just needs a good tune. He currently has a base tune on it with the gen2 maf translator. So my question is, if I buy the car as get a dsm link v3 and some good dyno time what's the cars potential? Is it a good start? I'm looking to make a 600hp street/strip car. I have included a link to the cars for sale ad. It gives limited information about the motor but, there is some. If there is anymore info you will need to answer my questions let me know and I can get it. Thanks in advance.

A base map with a fully built engine and big turbo? That is horribly unsafe. You should not be boosting on it.

Also some parts were skimped. First the turbo is 10x too big for anything. Kiggly runs 8s with a 76mm. Second those h beams are going to last long. They are 350$ rods and generally accepted as being about 400hp capable. You need I beams to hold the power of that turbo.
Lastly, a mad translator?? This car should definately be on speed density. Maf holds it back.

I knew the turbo was going to be too big. Planned on changing that anyway it's an eBay turbo That's what I'm trying to figure out though is what needs changed and what it needs to be tuned correctly. I trust the build on the motor ive seen the paperwork from the professional shop but not the rest of the set up.

you get what you pay for. If there are to many questions about something or red flags. That tells me to step away. But if yu got the dough and time, then get it..

And I take back the 600hp goal. Looking more for fast et's at the track like low 11's-10's just want a fast reliable street car.

Just because the motor was built buy a professional doesn't mean the h beams will take more than intended >450hp.

Personally, I dont like picking up other people's projects. Too many variables, especially for that price he is asking.

He said injectors are 660. I'm really thinking twice now just through what you guys are saying doesn't seen like such a good idea anymore.
