9005 vs 9006 vs Halo Projectors Bulbs?

I was about to recommend the silverstars, unless those headlights use the H1 and H3 bulb configurations. I would definitely go with the silverstars. :thumb:

I am almost positive those are the projectors that use H1 for the low beams, and H3 for the high beams. But why couldn't you still use silverstars? They make H1 and H3 bulbs. You just can't use your 9005 / 9006 bulbs.

Hell yeah man! I've had mine for 2 weeks now. I will never purchase another brand again. :thumb:

Thanks guy! Well as far as the gap in my lights and bumper, i have a 99 front bumper so it gravy. Thanks for the input and yes i love my silverstar.Nice and clean look with no ugly blue tint during the day!

Do they even make a 95 style projector? A projector that wouldn't leave that nasty gap on a Talon bumper?

Actually I have seen several auctions on ebay for 95-96 halo projectors. It helps out those who want projectors, but don't want to change to the gorgous front end of a 99 :)

When you guys are talking about silverstar bulbs, where are you putting them, are you taking out the angel eye bulb and replacing it or putting it over on the far side where it is wired to your blinker. >?????

Most people only replace their low beams with silverstars because of the cost (and they use their low beams far more often than their high beams). Others replace both the high and low beams.

The bulb for the actual angel eye ring is really an LED. The silverstars are for high/low beams.

Alright, I must be a little confused, i think i might have figured it out though. OK, how do i replace the almost round looking bulb that is inside the blue halo ring. I cant find any silver star bulb that looks round like that, or am i miss inturpreting this, and is there really a bulb that is inside the round piece of glass, and that is what you change.

But there for if i am already having trouble with my light going everywhere and all over the sidewalk and lawns, then if i was to get a brighter blub would i have more problems.

And Right now as far as i know i am running a H1 and H3 blub configuration, if i wanted to replace the H1 bulb with a silverstar blub, which one would you recommend to get. I AM NOT A 100% SURE THAT I AM RUNNING h1 AND H3, CAUSE I DIDNT BUY MINE OF EBAY, AND IT DIDNT SAY FOR SURE, BUT MY LOW BEAMS SEAM TO BE REALLY DIM.

so what this all boils down to is that they suck & i should go for REAL HID/projector set up?

nah you don't have to go spend over a g on real HID headlights u just have to adjust them right...and to go a small shop near you and buy some hyperwhite bulbs they almost come out blue and look sooo much better  personally i dont like silver stars b/c my car is lowered and when someone behind me has them they seem to shine farther up than normal blubs...i havnt had any problems out of mine and not being able to see u just have to spend a while adjusting the headlights and make sure they r in there tight

If you have projectors, chances are low beams are H3 and high beams are H1. Unscrew the cap on the low beam (one that has the angel eye on it) and look at the back of the bulb. It should only have 1 wire coming off of it. If it does, its H1/H3...if not, it will look like normal 9004/5/6 bulbs.

To replace them, pop off the paperclip lookin thing that snaps the bulb in, and it should just pull right out.

Silverstar is the best non-HID bulb IMO. You can get them in pretty much any normal sized bulb.

wait isnt the bulbs 9005, 9006 and H3 for the fog lights????? Can Dsm put H3 and H1 if i get a halo projector??

Stock headlights are 9005 and 9006 for low/high beams with h3 for the foglights, but if you get the aftermarket projectors, the low beam is H3 and the high beam is H1.

Are you asking if the Silverstars suck, or aftermarket projectors?

asking if the projectors suck, it've been though some shitty headlights before (bad optics etc.. horrible light pattern, no focus & tons of glare)

Just wondering if these are all show, or if the projectors actualy focus the light into a more usable, controlled form.

I think they are better than the 95-96 headlights that my car came with. Its got an excellent light pattern, sharp cut-off, and no glare. I'm not sure if all projectors are good...maybe some were good some were bad.

PM'd you back...I might go snap some pics of the beam pattern and angel eyes at night when I go to work on my car Thursday. I think the angel eyes are kinda cool...just wish they had 2 on each headlight instead of 1.

If you live in suburbia you can get these lights.

If you live anywhere without lighting, Do not Get them.

The beam strength no matter what H3 bulb. WILL SUCK. The cutoff is awesome, but the lighting that hits the ground Is dim. I am doing a FULL HID swap so I am not worried.
