Shakedown passes at low boost at Sacramento Raceway this last wednesday..

These runs are the very first runs the driver has ever made down a 1/4 mile in his life..

2.3l Stroker Manley I-Beam / Wiseco 9:1 HKS 272/272.. All the supporting stuff and tuned by me..

First pass ever for the car AND driver.. The car has a little over 3000 miles on the new motor.. And thats ALL the seat time that driver has ever had in an awd DSM.

12.431 @ 111 Mph.. on 17-18 lbs of boost on the an EvoIII 16g with a LAME 1.9 60' (Not bad for a rookie!)

Were going back to the track next Wednesday after finishing up on the car this weekend.. (These runs were on a stock downpipe and 2.5" catback.. not to mention all kinds of other loose ends that werent tied up on the car..)

We will be at the track (Sacramento Raceway) again from 4pm-10pm on Wednesday 7/18/07

Come on out..

Were aiming for some 11 second passes..

Gunna trade around drivers with some more seasond DSMers behind the wheel.. So you will either see some badass passes (For an EvoIII 16g).. Or DSM Drivetrain parts scattered all over the track

Either way it should be fun!

Why not put something slightly bigger between the manifold and downpipe or at least turn the wick up? :) Or is it in the future plans? Just trying to see what she does with just a lil bit of air?

Yup thats the one on craigslist.. Its still for sale.. My buddy is the owner and is an IDIOT for selling it.. We just finished putting it together.. But now he wants a house so its gotta go..

The motor alone in that thing is worth a grip..

2.3 stroker.. Manley I beams Wiseco 9:1 stroker pistons..
The machine work / balancing / assembly was incredibly anal..

The machine work was done by dels in sacramento..

2.4 Crank was polished and the seal areas were sleeved (crank was in perfect shape before anyhow)

Block was hot tanked / shot peened and bored .040 over all final honing was done with some serious pressure on a torque plate.. Mains were line-honed out to spec. He even paid Dells to clearance the block for the crank even tho i told him that we could do it with my damned die grinder.. He just wanted everything perfect.. Everything was sent out for balancing by a balancing specialist.. (Youd be shocked how smooth it is for a stroker on solid prothane mounts with no balance shafts.. He even had dels press in the balance shaft kit bearings for him..)
Calico coated ACL main / Rod bearings ARP everything (mains, rod bolts, head studs)

HKS 272 / 272 cams.. (AND it passed smog with these with flying colors thanks to me leaning the crap outta the safc hehe)

The head was fully rebuilt and decked..

Cometic MLS headgasket..

Basically.. If you were to buy this longblock from slowboy youd end up with crappier parts including eagle rods and comp cams itd cost you 5300 bucks.. (This engine has roughly 9 or 10k in it)

The engine has a little over 3000 miles on it.. Just out of the initial break in and its running flawlessly..

$6500 obo

My friend is insane..
eIII 16g 660cc injectors.. custom chip by me..
fluidyne radiator..
ETS short route 3.5" Race core FMIC kit..
DejonTool 2g in a 1g intake
2gmaf (compensated for on my chip)
Greddy Type R bov - recirculated with the proper greddy adapter.. (planned on running a gt35r at insane boost so he went with the type R valve)
Supra TT fuel pump sized to flow enough for 980cc injectors
Aeromotive AFPR
Expensive autometer gauges if thats possible.. hehe EGT to 2200f Electric Fuel pressure and boost guage that reads to 45 psi

... and on and on.. Theres alot more than i cant remember right now..

The car ran the 12.43 @111 with craptastic driving and a 1.9 60 foot (When I tuned it before the track.. If felt a HELLUVA lot faster than 1.9 on the 60 foot.. It was feeling a lot faster than the 1.7 60's im used to as well.. buddy just couldnt launch to save his life) on 17 lbs of boost on a stock downpipe....

Its a beast..

Since then (Track video was 2 weeks ago) we have done more work to it.. 3" dp is in.. the car is absolutely nutz..

We were going to take it back to the track and shoot for some 11's before we sold it but my buddy decided not to risk it (Worried about blowing up the drivetrain somewhere before a sale)..

Dumb.. We were going to hang a gt35r on it and go balls out with EMS.. but the whole house thing came up and so someone gets to walk into a badass 11 second 2.3 stroker for 6k.. Whatever.. (im pissed that hes selling it.. especially that cheap.. ive got a lotta time in that thing.. hehe)

The car is a beast.. Rolling onto the throttle in 1st or second gear straight rips all 4 tires loose at any boost level above 16 lbs.. Torque monster..

Oh and the car was put together by real DSM'ers.. Not hack job rejects.. (Well it must have been.. the very first time it ever saw a track ever it ran a 12.43 with a sucky driver and low boost)

Id buy it if my money werent also tied up in the home buying process.. Damned housing market.. (I just sold my 1g also)
