I need to replace the fuel pressure regulator on my 1990 Talon, I'm wondering if the FPR for the TSI is the same as for the base model, no turbo. I see both are available and they look just the same but the TSI version is a bit more in price. Will the TSI version work on a non TSI engine, and if so, is there any benefit to using the TSI one instead? I can pay a bit more if it is for some reason better.

Thanks!

The turbo 36.3 psi FPR is the same for all 5 speed cars 90-94. Note there wasn't an automatic turbo in 90 so no auto FPR but if there had been it would have received the same 42.7 psi part as the 91-94 autos. All the NT cars got the same 47.3 psi regulator.

So you answer the original question, no the FPR's from the turbo cars aren't the right ones for your non-turbo. You want the higher pressure regulator that was standard on it.
You want to get the correct one the turbo cars run lower pressure. Off the top of my head the non-turbo is 47 psi and turbo manual is like 42. Somewhere around there. Whatever it is they are different and there is no benefit to running the turbo one.
