I have a 91 AWD TSi that I'm rebuilding and I some suggestions on what to do for a air oil cooler setup.

I really dont want to go to the junk yard and pull one off a car if I can help it. I would rather spend a little money and get a recent setup.

What I'm looking for is suggestions on what oil cooler and lines to get and where to buy them from. What size will fit? I'm going to be installing a FMIC too sooner or later so whatever I go with is mostlikely going to have to go into the wheel wheel ares where the drivers side fog light used to be I'm guessing.

http://www.machv.com/exoilcoolfil.html Theres a good set up and if you buy the metric to -8AN fitting you can go to your local car parts store and get some oil lines for it. Its hard to find the mertic fittings. And as for the oil cooler itself , you can pick one up at your local parts store as well.

The housing I already have.

The motor I'm rebuilding is out of a 1990 AWD TSi. I'm going to replace all the sensors and have the housing tanked at the local machine shop so it looks all new.

Ok so I guess I just order a set of those AN fittings and a set of those washers and look locally for the rest.

Any certain brand of cooler I should look for? I dont want some peice of junk that doesnt work right. I want a good, easy to fit, high quality oil cooler.

The whole reason I'm even dealing with this shit is that my 91 oil cooler failed, all my oil shot out and blew my motor, turbo and head all at the same time.

Thanks for the link btw.

Ive seen nice oil coolers in Jegs and Summit so visit their sites, i wouldnt go to big, maybe a bit bigger than a stock oil cooler from a 90, if i remember right from my old 90 the coolers were about 12''x12''. Good luck, and this reminds me that i need to start looking for a 90 oil cooler set up as well before mine craps out on me.
