90 FWD Turbo tranny into a 91

So the tranny in my 91 is getting a little shady between gears and looking to swap in a different one. Well right now I currently have three 1990 FWD Turbo transmissions. But I have heard that the 90's are weaker than the 91& newer. Anyone know if their is any truth to that? Since I have 3 of these 90's I was considering trying to put one into my 91. I have a 90 shifter and a 90 mounting bracket. So is it worth swapping over to a 90 setup in my 91?

Ive never heard of the 90s tranny being weaker, just heard about the shifter being longer on those cars, and you'll have to use your shifter bracket from the 91 on the 90 tranny because the cable links are different I believe. I got a 6bolt engine about to go in soon that came with a 90s tranny, my old tranny is blown so I have to use the 90s tranny on my 93 and Im hopeing it holds up good, i know it came out of a running car but dont know if it will be able to take track abuse for when I go... ( Has a stock clutch in it also that I know will burn up in short order but with careful daily driving im hopeing it at least last for a few months, plan to upgrade it all in the future. )

I've never heard of that either. Hope its not true though, I have a 90 tranny sittin in the garage.
