$90 dollar short block

Ok like the tittle says i got a short block for $90 dollars at my local junk yard it came of a 94 fwd gst.
The whole motor was in the car and i was surprised that it was a jdm cyclone turbo motor whith the mitsubishi red top valve cover the timing belt snapped so i did not bother on buying the head
The guy wanted $250 dollars for the whole motor but i have no use for the head or cyclone intake manifold so he told me i could get the short block for $90 if i pulled it my self and he gave me the mitsubishi valve cover for free.
So let me know you guys opinions on this
also the block did not have a knock sensor on the back i'm really sure all tubo motors come whith a knock sensor but correct me if i'm wrong and the top of the pistons say 63dT
is that what all turbo pistons suppose to say?

The knock sensor goes in the head, just below the intake manifold.

63DT is what all turbo pistons say. Looks like a good buy there, nice find!

Thanks i just wanted to make sure it was the real thing..
Also do you guys think this motor can still hold up to some boost or should i just get new
pistons and rings my goal is 350hp to the wheels and just for street use,

I would at least perform the standard rebuild on the block, especially since you will be looking for 350 whp. I would go 1g rod and 2g piston and do an oem rebuild, that should be more than enough to get you to your goals.

Ok i know the block has turbo pistons but how can i tell if it's a real turbo block?
it did not have a knock sensor on the back of the block and also it had an external oil cooler when i bouth it...
it says 4g63 on the block is there a way i can tell is a turbo block not the n/a block?

I looked at the thread title and was thinking...christ even a 250k mile 7 bolt is worth $90. But it haha!!

If you look at pic number two, you can see the oil sqirters (at least the bolts for them) right to the top of cylinders #2 and #3. It is turbo. The pistons on a non turbo as well are less beveled, more flat.

Umm, get that cyclone intake, you can sell it for at least a 100 bucks...

well if it came with an external oil cooler, than it most likely is a '90 (unless they swapped only the OFH)

Thanks for the reply's i'm probally gona end up doing a .20 over whit 2g pistons arp hardware and new bearings also where can i buy 2g pistons for a good price?
