I have a fully prepared 90 Turbo motor complete (Intake to oil pan).
A memeber has brought to my attention their may be some differences between this year block and the standard 6bolt swap block. I have used the search feature as specified, and have found no conclusive evidence to support this claim. So, who has used a 90 Turbo block? If so what things should I look out for? Thhe only difference I have found is that the TB was smaller. Please.. I need some help on this.. I am ready to do a HEART TRANSPLANT.

I used a 90 block.. Seemed the same as all the 1g blocks ive used. Just make sure you have the oil cooler for the oil filter housing.

Hmm.. If I dont have it , do you know where I could find one?

you can check on ebay or the classified's here on tuners. Also check on DSM Trader hosted by DSMsource.com - Main Index. The 90 car's had smaller cams, different coil/ignitor/transistor/noise filter setup then the 91 - 94 cars. Also the throttle body and some sensors relative to it are different. 90's also have an oil to air cooler unlike the 91 to 94 which use and oil to water cooler. You could just get an oil filter housing and water pipe (the one that connects to the water pump), from a 91 to 94 car and not worry about the oil to air cooler that the '90 motor uses.

So.. It would be a worhtwhile project to put cams in NOW? Also, could I source these items(different coil/ignitor/transistor/noise filter setup then the 91 - 94 cars.) from the later model? Or am i going to have to find alotmore crap then the standard 6 bolt swap?

I'm don't know EXACTLY how the 6 bolt swap into the 2g goes. I just know the differences from the 90 cars to the 91 to 94 (I've owned 17 1g dsm's). I'm not really a good person to ask about the 6 bolt swap. As far as putting cams in now, YES. I have heard (can't confirm though) that the 2g cams are not as good as the 1g cams. It's pretty cheap though to get a set of cams (investment for return wise). I'd say if you not looking to make alot (500whp or more) the 264/272 combo or just a pair of 272's would be great. You can email Darren (FFWD Connection - Race Injuns That Will Freeze Your Brain) and he can give you the details about what you'd need to complete the 6 bolt swap. Like I said I'm a 1g guy and thats what I know about. I don't want to give you any misleading info and so I'd say to just contact Darren or another supporting vendor here on tuners.
