My very good friend just bought a 1987 toyota Supra Turbo. It is a 5 speed, and he told me they have about 230hp. I have a 90 GSX with 195, also 5 speed. He isn't taking the car out till spring, he's just doing bodywork during the winter. But will his car be a whole lot faster then mine. I can't give him any advantages. I have most of the free mods so far. I would like everybody's opinion on what i should do to get some more out of my car. i know for first i'll get a boost control and gauge. Then i was thinking either 3" exhaust or a SAFC. And finally what rpm can i drop my stock clutch at, it is pretty new but is still basic clutch. Thanks

Rule 3.
Keep the BS out of our forums. We don't want to see: spam, advertising of products/services/websites (see our Vendor Policy), group buy posts, rice-related discussions, politics, war, religion, porn, racism, drugs, illegal activities, girlfriend/boyfriend/relationship discussions, bench racing, hot chick threads, post-whoring, misinformation, bickering, slang/getto-speak, etc. Be mature, act like an adult, and know the difference between acceptable behavior and childish behavior. This applies to public forum posts, private messages, and email.

as for getting more out of your car is another thing.

first of all, what gary said is true, and you will find yourself back in the newbie title doing that kind of stuff.

second of all, just follow the tech guide, if you try to push your car harder than it wants to be pushed just to keep up with your friend, itll cost you more in the end.

we will end this right now and answer his question, if your friend has ever driven a stick, your done game over he wins

i dirve a 92 supra turbo and i raced my good frinds 90 laser turbo with all the free mods and he only lasted through 1st gear before i pulled.

you will lose. now stop asking these questions because there is no way to answer "you think i could win this race?" questions, to many factors, to many drivers.

just read as much as you can about your car and go through EVERY SIGNLE tech article, it helps.

The '87 supra is really a pig. It's a Cressida with two doors and a pretty nose.
K&N, boost controller and gauge, rewired fuel pump and a crappy cat back should do the deed.
Have fun.

Haha, I guess it is a little piggy. Though Im sure the rwd is pretty nice to have. Theres one in the parking lot at school everyday. Fat muffler, hood pins and oil stains all over the fenders (Just like mine  ) Its kinda refreshing seeing it next to all the two toned integras. I need to go find the guy who owns Im sure hed be pretty cool. Ill always be convinced that a dsm is the best bang for buck.God I love my car. :talon:
