was looking around my local junkyard and found a garret turbo. t3/t4 im guessing, it says A/R .80 on the turbo. my question is would that be too much for daily driving? 50 bucks sure beats 800-1000 for a 50 trim. thanks - Shawn

Snag it and sell it to a Supra owner looking to make 600-800HP.

I agree... put it on eBay or something to help fund for YOUR turbo! :thumb:

the ar isn't the compressor or turbine. The ar has to do with the housing. Which housing has that on it?

If there is little endplay You may be able to use it but probably be very very laggy for a daily driver.

From garrett.

a/r describes a geometric property of all compressor and turbine housings. Increasing the compressor a/tr optimizes the performance for low boost applications. Changing turbine a/r has many effects. By going to a larger turbine a/r the turbo comes up on boost at a higher engine speed. The flow capacity of the turbine is increased and less flow is wastgated. There is less engine backpressure and engine volumetric efficiency is increased resulting in more overall power.

hope that helps :D

If you want you can pick it up and assuming there is no shaft play or anything like that (maybe even if there is) I might take it off your hands for display purposes for people.

Yeah, crankbender is right - it could be a .80 A/R on the turbine 35.5mm diameter turbine wheel, which would be rediculous, but not impossible.
