im gunna be getting a nice bonus from work this year, i was wondering what u guys think i should get, so far i have:

full 3" exhaust
MBC
lower intercooler pipes
intake
greddy rs BOV
turbo timer

now, id like to be running more HP, a fast spooling turbo that makes around 350-400 hp ?
if thier is such a thing. i dont know EVERYTHING i would need, so all the info u have would be great :)

###### also gunna get a new paintjob since i hate this green color.

With $8K you have quite a few options, I am not well versed in the larger turbos so i will leave that for someone with more experience. For your goals you will need a FMIC as well as some larger injectors, a Walbro 255 fuel pump(rewired) and an AFPR. Either a logger or DSM link (with $8k go with the link). You are going to need more air flow so get a GM MAF and dont' forget a translator. If you wish you can get a tubular header for more air flow, however a good port job will take the stock manifold pretty far. Make sure any manifold you purchase will be compatible with the turbo. That should be a step in the right direction with money left over for any unforseen issues and paint.

with 8k you have lots of options.

FMIC should be done. You will need a clutch to support the new power your going to be wanting to put down. Go with Link for tuning. You can keep the 2g mas if you want, gm is not a must have.

Now onto turbos. 350-400 whp?

Id go with a PTE turbo of some sort. 3431E. Buddy has the same exact turbo and on 22 lbs is flowing I believe 42 lbs/min.

Now is your suspension completly stock?

With that amount of money mod it right and it will last.

edit. Also saw you were auto in another thread. So your keeping the car I take it then?

i would get a daily driver.

no really, if you havent made the switch i would suggest getting a 6 bolt motor, the 7 bolt might last forever or it might take a crap on.

There is no need for a built motor though. I would suggest getting a PTE5031e (50 trim) or the PTE3432 (57 trin) or the FP green (50 trim), Im running the 3432 in a ball bearing version and on 20-21 psi im pushing around 42-43 lbs/min and seeing spool by 3600 in 2nd gear 3500 in 3rd gear.

Look into getting a set of cams and a smim (with a 1g tb) to compliment the big turbo. Also a set of arp head studs would be a nice addition to the motor.

As for tuning I would go with link, the forum is amazing and everyone is willing to help you tune your car by looking at logs.

Fuel I would go with 880s and a 255 pump. (this is only if you get link though) also an adjustable fuel pressure regulator would be good.

Fmic is a must. Water injection is nice if you have a little but of money left over for it.

As for exhaust, port the hell outta the 2g manifold, and get a nice true 3" o2 housing and dp.

you will need a clutch or if your an auto i would recomend getting a stall and having the trans rebuilt with an ipt kit ( i wish i was an auto)

the rest is just little things here and there, like guages, or anything else that you want.

I looked through your current mod list and see that even though you have some basic "bolt-ons", you're still relatively stock.

1. If you plan on really modding the car, take roughly $2K and buy a second car because you will end up breaking the Eclipse at some point after modification. Plus it will keep the mileage down.

2. Knock out ALL maintenance issues. It does you no good to have a bunch of "go-fast" parts on a car that doesn't run.

3. You should still have plenty of options with the money left over.

I would also second this. No need for a timing belt to snap after you just got done moding it, or anything stupid like that.

A girlfriend.....LOL

I will second the idea of getting a beater car, something under 2k to drive around. Then do all maintence, then start buying parts like crazy. You need to know now what you want your car to be, a road race car, a drag only car, a fast as hell street car...etc

I am also in favor of suggesting maintenance, a daily driver (please find one under $500 - no need to spend a couple thousand on a POS), and a few other basic bolt-ons. I would also suggest sending your transmission to Shep and have him tinker around with it.

LOL @girlfriend stuff...

im married =) and shes pretty cool about my car stuff.

my job is pretty decent in the fact that my boss gives big bonus's like this, or i couldnt do this kinda shit =)

anyway that all sounds alittle too much for my taste. i dont even know a decent shop to do the wirk in my area ( lansdale PA ish). maybe 300hp to wheels would be better for a daily? i dunno. i like how the evo spools up fast, i kinda want a turbo like that but maybe more powerful ? is thier such a thing?

-----
basiclly my other option is to get somthing new with more backseat space for my son...
-evo
-sti
-lexus is300
-g35 coupe (think they have more room)
*shrug*
anything fun around 23k

Get a TT Supra and by a 4 door civic for the wife and kid.

My Spiel.....

1) pay $8,000 down on your morgate... if you don't have one, use it for a down payment on a house and get one.

2) if your dead set on a car and fun rather than practicality... which is apparant as you are here and we are all little perverse DSM'rs sick for more power out of a 2.0L engine... then I would suggest these rough estimates for cost of parts (do the work yourself.. you will enjoy it more):

95 Eprom ECU + DSMLink = $800
750cc Injectors = $300
255lph Walbro Fuel pump + FPR Kit = $275
Innovative LC-1 Wideband O2 = $200
Evo III 16G Turbo = $590
16G Install Kit = $250
Evo III Exhaust Manifold = $200
Evo O2 Housing = $150
New Front O2 Sensor (maintance as they do expire over time) = $80
Joe P IL series boost controller = $45
Greddy P/H boost gauge = $190
Megan Racing 3' Downpipe = $85
3' High Flow Cat = $140
3' SS Cat Back Exhaust = $550
2G DSM ETS 7" Street IC (hard pipe bends, keep your fog lights, no bumper cutting - 450hp) = $710.00
1G BOV = $60
Dejon Intake Pipe (CIP-2gS) = $150
SBR 4" K&N Filter and 2G MAS adapter = $70.00
60mm 2G Bored Throttle Body = $150
Centerforce Dual-Friction Clutch = $395
RRE SS Clutch Line = $20
RRE 95'-99' SPC Frong Upper Control Arms (camber/caster adjust) = $440
Megan Racing CoilOvers = $1100
EBC Green Stuff brake pads = $160

Total: $7110

And should you choose to go larger in turbo to say a 50 trim for about $500 more than the evo (i recommend, but you said you just wanted 300 hp) then you can do that as well and do nothing but some IC pipe adjustment.

For the most part I like the mod list (one would think you had $8K in your pocket), however, with DSMLink I will always say "go big". 850s as a minimum, they're still under the $300 price tag and 950s are $310. You can never have too much fuel available, even if you don't use it, it will allow for the future upgrades (that you know are coming) with one less worry. DSMLink has handled 1600s.

so thats where all my money went. i guess my girlfriend wasnt lying when she said i dont spend money on her, its all in the car. o well

well there are ways to cut that list down, for example get the kyb agx's and the eibach prokit instead of the coilovers (save 500) get ingalls camber kit instead of new arms (save 300) get an autometer boost gauge instead of the greddy (save 90) get the full N1 system (about the same, sounds amazing!!!!) 1G tb (save 75) that right there is $965 and you could cut back more by using cheaper break-pads and doing things like that. Also, if you have around $1500 left over do all the prep work for a repaint and you can usually get a car professionally sprayed with paint for less than that :)
