Guess I'm out of touch with the new shops cropping up here in DE as first I've heard of Forward Motion. I saw their website but no mention of being engine builders

I assume this was a purpose built racecar engine as aluminum rods generally do not a good street engine make? :dsm:

Why would you use a SRT4 oil pump when they are known to give out at around 450 horsepower???

I dont think its fair to call a shop thats been around over a decade (roughly 13 years now) a "new shop cropping up" , a quick call to them verified they build up chrysler engine Im local so the phone call was a quick and easy way to check; Im sure a simple e-mail would have yeilded similar results.

Actually Im 99% sure it was intended as a drag car but theres no reason why, with proper tuning and up keep, that this engine wouldnt make a nice powerplant for a street car. Its not always what it is, but how well its taken care of that matters.

What should he use? the SRT4 oil pump seems to be the best choice and its not as though it cant be replaced when the need arrives, a daft statement indeed.

dohc? srt-4 motor? Shit, amazing nethertheless.
Believe its a cloud car motor (stratus, sirrus, etc) bored and stroked with SRT rebuild parts; but you'd have to search 2gnt.com for more (and better) info

It was Sunday 8PM, I assumed they were closed. I've been driving a turbo car in DE since 1985, they are new to me. I do think it's pretty cool that they exist at all, maybe can turn them onto DSMs ;)

I don't profess to know bunk about SRT-4 engines but do know you can't tune out aluminum rods. Do some searching and you'll see why they're not recommended for street cars, hence my comment.

You're a Chrysler tech recommending trusting a $4K+ engine and supporting mods to a critical part that is known to fail? Talk about daft statements, and irony.

My friend had just got his 4GCS together (Crower Rods/Magnus Pistons) and he's never going to spin much past 8K due to the less than optimal rod ratios. Curious what the ratios are on this engine to let it spin to 10K  Maybe I'll call them Monday and report back ;)
