2G 7 Bolt Rebuild Guide

Before anyone gets all crazy and says to use the search function, I did. Now that that's out of the way, I was wondering if anyone had any good guides on doing the bottom end. All the threads on here are just people asking for the same as myself. Any help is much appreciated.

Make sure you buy new bearing and gaskets. Are you doing a rebuild due to part failures or just because you feel its time?

Also what is your goal?

It's a rebuild of a block that I picked up to build while still having an engine in the car. My goal is 400-500hp.

Was it running when you bought it? My suggestion is disassemble it yourself and take notes of everything if its your first time. http://www.amazon.com/Build-Max-Performance-Mitsubishi-4g63t-Engines/dp/1613250665. Worth buying.

Also find a local machine shop with a good reputation to have your block machined. When disassembling look for any grooves or discolorations on the bearing. Any marks on the top of pistons and any if theres any foreign material in the oil pan

I was told it was running when pulled. I've read it cover to cover. Not really much in terms of a guide but helpful nonetheless.

I will be bringing it where the 4g63 builders and nth moto does their machine work. Hot tanked and resurfaced at the minimum.

Dont hesitate to post pictures and questions while disassembling. Where are you located?

Just south of Minneapolis. This rebuild is a way off yet as I'm currently building the garage it will be done in.
