Instead of mixing the 6-bolt and 7-bolt head/block I'm using all 7-bolt parts, and as you know the CAS for the 7-bolt (95-96) has it under the cam gears. My problem is that I plan to have adjustable cam gears but the cam gears obviously get in the way (hence the design of the stock ones)...

So does anyone know if the 1G CAS will work by just matching the wire locations to that of the 2G CAS and running the one off the actual camshaft rather than under cam gear. I'm sure it's been done but I'm only finding the 6bolt/7bolt swaps not full 7 bolts. Thanks guys!

Just follow the write up for the 6bolt swap and wire it into you 2g Cas and cps, and you will be fine. Just skip over the steps about the 6 bolt block and go straight to where it starts talking about the Cas. The rre and Magnus write ups are both great.
