Well, I have bought a 6bolt block and a 6bolt head for 120€, about $170
Now, i have seen some post sying how to do the swap more or less, so i´m going to try it :D
I think it will be the first 6bolt swap in Spain!! so i hope to do it well

Now, I have a lot of doubts

I have to rebuilt the engine, and i want to know which are the best things i could buy and which are the cheaper ones
First of all, for piston, the best ratio compression is?????
8:8:1 ?
Please tell me something XD
And best pistons are? wiseco? Mhanley? JE? BC?
I don´t know why but i love JE :p
Rods:
I think it will be Eagle i think they are ""cheap"" and works well
Finally The crank
Should I buy a 4g64 crank and stroke my engine?

I have the head too XD it will have 264/272 (cheapest i´l find) oversized valves some good springs, and a good porting job

Of course there is a lot of thing will be new as well
Oil pump, watter pump, all gaskets, arp head bolts (they came new with the head :p ) metalic head gasket.....

I know there are a lot of question (totally lost) but i think this is the only place where i can find answers
Thanks

P.D. I hope to have about 400-450hp on a future, and a daily car, i do about 6000miles a year ;)

Sorry but what do you mean by XD? and could you post exactly what you want to know... to answer everything in your post, i would have to write a small book.

Well, sorry, i know there is a lot of questions XD

First of all i´d like to know if pistons and rod of a EVO8 could be use on a 6bolt engine, and waht is the difference between piston rods and crank form a 1g 6bolt and a 2g 7bolt

And if someone could say me what is a short block and a long block
I think with that i have what i want explained ;)

XD is just a kind of smiley face. like :D or :)

the 6 bolt rods are bigger then 7 bolt rods.
6bolt cranks have 6 bolts at the flywheel and 7 bolts have 7.

a short block is just the block of the engine.
long block is usually the entire engine or pretty close.

i have a wiesco/eagle combo and ill be pulling my 7bolt this weekend and getting ready to swap the 6 bolt in.. i also have BC 280 cams along with BC springs and retainers and ferrera 1mm oversized valves
and ARP everything

The Evo Pistons and Rods are somewhat different. The wrist pin needs to be re-drilled, and the process is very similar to putting the 2g piston on a 1g rod. If you can get in touch with dsm graveyard then I'd do so, as they have many of the answers your looking for. You could also buy an Evo piston/1g rods set with everything already machined to work. Stroking will basically give you more low end torque, and will spool a turbo a little quicker, from what I've been told it makes a great engine for a DD. You need the crank from a 6bolt 4g64 (also called a g4cs) to stroke the 6bolt 4g63.

2g pistons have a higher compression ratio and a smaller wrist pin than a 1g (I believe a 1g's compression ratio is 7.8:1 but don't quote me on that). 2g pistons and Evo pistons have the same wrist pin size, and the rods are nearly identical. 1g rods are bigger, and have been shown to take a lot more of a beating. The Wiseco/Eagle combo seems to be the popular, well proven way, but I've heard good things about Mhanley too.

I can't remember what all fuel grades you guys have over there, but if you have an equivalent to 91 octane, then 8.8:1 should be ok with a semi-conservative tune. Of stock Mitsubishi pistons, the Evo pistons would have the highest compression ratio, followed by 2g pistons, followed by 1g Non turbo pistons, and finally the 1g turbo pistons.

Thanks you very much, I´m learning a lot, thanks

About gas..here we have 95 octane and 98 octane gas, I use 98 octane, but i have heard our 98 is like your 91 :S

Another time thanks for all, i know my question should be so stupid.........but i think the only way to learn is that, so thanks ;)
