ok, here's the deal... i bought a 6bolt non turbo block on accident, and from what the guy told me in the auction on ebay is that you could add the oil squirts in the non turbo block and use it.
Well, i called a friend o fmine who is good with dsm's and he says that they accidentally bought an NA block once and he told me that the NAblocks are only good up to low 400hp, and that the holes are NON exhistant, is there anyway you can tap into the block and make the oil squirts?? the guy that sold me the block is not really cooperating in all this, and i hate to be stuck with an NA block that i cannot use... so if anyone knows what i can do, please let me know! thanx

Man.....I have been in those shoes. Here is what I researched, read, and believe.

NA 6 bolt blocks have forged 6 bolt cranks, and good rods. Pistons are cast 9:1, and are not good for boost.

NA blocks do not have oil squirters, or any indication of where they would go except a blank pad where the 4G63T blocks get machined and tapped for the squirters.

So bottom line to start the rebuild #1....is Forged Pistons in a lower CR such as 8.5:1, or 7.8:1 like a stock 1G (can you even get 7.8:1 CR pistons anymore??)

Then the concern about the squirters. I cannot say from here on out, because I have no firsthand experience, but I have heard that you COULD run it without the squirters and it would last a decent amount of time.

If all else fails and you decide to not build it, someone out there has a turned bearing on their 6 bolt and could use a good crank and rods.

Best of luck.

actually all i bought is the BLOCK. i'm doing a complete custom build... guess i'll just have to try to re-sell it.

i was just told by the guy that sold me the block, he works at a mitsu dealer and says you can buy the squirter KIT? he gave me 3 part #'s said i needed 4 of each,,, he says i can buy these things and drill holes and have oil squirts in the block... does anyone else know anything about this??? i really need a definitive answer!

Your block will make an awesome turbo motor. No need to sell it. The oil squirters aren't required with aftermarket pistons. The oil squirters are used to keep the stock pistons cool by spraying oil on the backs of them. They're there so mitsubishi can use less expensive pistons in a performance application and the pistons are designed specifically for use with oil sqirters. Aftermarket pistons are designed to be used without oil spray. Other than than just source the rest of the turbo parts. The crank and rods from n/t are identical as the turbo parts and might be cheaper.

yea, i'm really building this motor, wanting to push around 700whp. and was told the NA blocks without squirters were only good to low 400s. but, i've been doin some reading, and i can buy the squirters from the mitsu. dealer and have a machine shop put em in. i'm gonna go with manley rods, wiseco pistons... i was really wanting to put in the squirters because of extra insurance.... but i hear alot of people are actually blocking them off to increase oil pressure. so now im kind of confused as what 2 do. I want them in there for the extra insurance of not ####in shit up, and since i'm building the motor from the ground up, i'd like to do it right the 1st time while its all in pieces.

You're not going to need those oil squirters. Not having them will not destroy your engine. Bad tuning will destroy your engine. When you have it assembled and running, just stay on the conservative side of your tuning until you feel comfortable enough to start pushing your settings. Blocks with the oil squirters in them can just as easily be ruined from bad tuning.

You will be fine with a n/t block. I rebuilt my motor using the non turbo crank, rods, and block. 7k miles on it so far with no problems at all.
