64mm Large Throttle Body

Many poeple such as my self keep the N/T Throttle body when converting to a turbo car. The N/T TB is 64mm which is larger then the stock turbo TB. Why don't more turbo guys do This? is there a reason or do most DSM'rs simply not know this?

i didnt know that but it would be useless unless you port-match ur intake manfold and have 2.5" IC piping to along with it

It's NOT larger at the throttle plate.

It necks down to same size as the 1g turbo throttle body.

N/T = 64mm

I was gunna use it in my build up but decided against it because silicone 45 degree angles cost some and id rather just got with a 2g elbow

The 1g N/t and the 1g Turbo throttle bodies are the same size at the plate.

I know, I've rebuilt more that just a few of them.

I'm with Hal. I mic'd my NT TB plate when I rebuilt it and it was 60mm.

I beleive RC engineering can overbore them to about 64mm if you were so inclined.

I didn't realize they tapered down to 60mm. I'll confirm that when I get home.

I dont see why you couldn't bore it out and then just get a differnt plate because after the bore it would end up to big for the 60mm plate right.

I have 64mm T/B , 60mm(1g) that has been bored out with matching intake and 2.5 inch pipes. it works good.

crusedGSX just made 700+ whp on a stock nt throttle body so I am sure it will satisfy everyone's needs.

What is the TB made from? aluminum? I think I'm just going to weld a 45* pipe to it, and make my own upper intercooler kit.

Why don't you just buy a t/b flange and weld the elbow on there?

because it's a n/t TB. Would I need to take off throttle seals if it's going to be welded?

If I can get a turbo TB for cheap I'm just going to buy an upper kit
