I just finished doing a 6 bolt swap and whenever I turn the key the starter spins but it doesn't spin the crank. I'm almost 100% sure that its a 6 bolt fwd flywheel. I used the 2g starter bracket and have tried both a fwd 2g starter and an awd 1g starter and neither seem to hit the flywheel. Does anyone know of a way to see if it is in fact a fwd flywheel without having to remove the flywheel? Such as removing the lower flywheel plate and checking clearance? Or does anyone think its a starter related problem? I've seen some starters I've replaced come with a spacer that goes between the tranny and starter. DSM's don't have these correct? Only the starter bracket I saw. Anyone please help! I don't want to have to remove my tranny the inspect the flywheel. I just want to be done!

It sure sounds like you bought an awd flywheel to put in your fwd. I have 2 possible scenarios for you if this has happened. Push start every time, or install a fwd flywheel.

Be sure to check your starter drive to make sure it's not bad. Have it checked on the bench to make absolutely sure it's good.

Make sure you are getting proper voltage/amperage to your starter.

If this all shows good, then you have to pull the transmission.

Good Luck
