I am doing a 6 bolt swap in my 93 eagle talon and pulling the 7 bolt out. Are there any parts from my 7 bolt motor i should use on the six bolt to benefit in reliability and performance or just rebuilt the 6 bolt and put it in my car?

Nothing really to keep or re-use! Just cam angle sensor, alternator, and power steering pump.. I would keep the head for a spare! Just have to drill out the head stud holes a little to clear the bigger 6bolt head studs if you would ever have to use it!

when i pull that 7 bolt would it be easier to pull it out the top or drop the whole front clip and lower it out the botom with the tranny???

is there enough clearance between the side of the engine and the wheel well to get the engine off the tranny or do i need to remove all the timing components to ge tthe clearance?

Yes, remove all the pulleys outside the timing belt cover. When I pulled my engine, I took the transmission out with it, seemed a lot easier than trying to line it back up when putting it back in.

How to do a 6 bolt swap and what you need.

Is it alot more work to pull the tranny out with the engine? My car is AWD so would i pull the t-case out with the tranny?

One i got all the timing components, water pump, oil pump, head and oil pan off of the engine i am rebuilding how do i take my crank out???

buddy, i fear the worst for u. go ahead and have somebody assemble the motor (a builder perhaps) and you just do the installation.

I kinda agree. Looks like you are trying to build an engine and you are clueless on doing it.

Search and read a lot before even pulling the engine out.
Building an engine is not an easy job, and should be done by someone with experience.

Yeah i am stripping my 6 bolt engine down and then taking it in to get new rings, bearings, dust caps and get it honed. Then once the bottom end is put back together i will put the head on and drop it into my car. the only reason i am stripping it down is because it saves me about three hours of labor at the machine shop.

Alright. Not to thread jack but this thread is the most recent and I'm tryna get a clear answer. My buddy has a 93 7 bolt, we want to drop in a complete 6 bolt. Everything is a direct replacement am I right, all sensors and plugs. Thanks.
