Alright, I have a 1991 Eclipse GSX. I'm going to rebuild the engine, but other matters have come up and I can't do my planned build up for power so I need to find a rebuild kit that's cheap just to get the at driving again, I've found this [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007P74C3M/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?qid=1398775200&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70]Evergreen OK5007L/0/0/0 Eagle 4G63T Turbo Engine Rebuilding Kit:Amazon:Automotive[/ame]
Just unsure if it's a quality rebuild kit that'll last for about a year or so. Car is all stock won't be upping the boost or anything. Just a stock rebuild right now. Also, does a 7 bolt rebuild any different from a 6 bolt rebuild besides the headbolt sizes? I need some input cause I was piecing together parts for the rebuild but this whole kit is only 10 bucks more than all the parts I priced out without shipping included. Any input from fellow dsmers would be helpful, maybe someone close has a long block I can just swap in it for a little bit? Thanks in advance guys, site has always helped me out.

You're probably better off waiting and just buy a short block or long block depending on what you want/needs. It will be less headache. And will be just a drop in and dive away if done right. But, I personally won't buy that kit. Seems to cheap.

Yes, there are differences between 7bolt and 6bolt "rebuild kit". An example will be the front case/oil pump.

Those evergreen rebuild kits are actually pretty good has a lot of name brand parts in the kit. And yes the 7 and 6 bolt differ slightly. I was wanting to order this kit for my gvr4 but it seems they only have them for 6bolts. :( Rockauto also has decent rebuild kits. But note that these kits are only really good for a stock rebuild. I wouldn't use one and plan on a high hp motor, not sure everything in the kit is up to par for high boost!

So the rebuild I have above would work just fine? I'm just doing stock rebuild because I need a dd and later on I'll rebuild for power when I have the money.

And also, will a 7 bolt from a 99 tsi awd fit work? I'm thinking it won't cause the wiring is laid out different in 2nd gens but I could be wrong. Any input?

That's the thing I don't know if those kits will work with a 6bolt. They seem like they are for 7bolts. I would email them and ask before ordering atleast that's what I'm going to do. If i can't find a answer i won't get the kit, don't wanna waste time and money on a chance it may not work. Let me know if you find out anything bro! Thx
