As many of you have probably noticed, DSMtuners has been advertising STM's oil cooler kit on its homepage. This is what sparked my interest, and due to that I've researched the subject quite a bit. I've found a gold mine of information concerning the cost and quality of various coolers. Yet, most of these threads are dated, as is the information within them. Thus due to market fluctuation, i'm sure the "best" route to take has changed.

Hence this thread, which hopefully can answer my question, as well as help others in the DSM community.

I've read that piecing together your own kit, with a Setrab Cooler is extremely popular. Based off of the opinions i've seen, their coolers are some of the best you can buy. But, in turn you pay for it. Along with that, there is added difficulty in finding all the proper fittings and pieces.

Likewise, many others enjoy the simplicity of pre-assembled kits, some of which are offered by STM and DSMotorsports. (Please by all means input any other options i may have over looked.) These seem to have the best price, but lack the options of piecing together your own.

Which option will give me the best products/parts, along with a reasonable price tag? Reasonable, meaning an assumption i've made based off of kits out there. Around $180 - $250. Is that adequate for quality parts?

Other questions, and bits of info....
-6AN is the smallest suggested line for such external coolers. But, I quote, "If its worth doing, Its worth over doing." So I'd prefer going with -8AN or -10AN, but lets hear your thoughts.

10"x11" seems to be the largest kit that will fit in a 2GB bumper. But, its extremely tight and at a sharp angle. Whereas smaller coolers can be mounted forward facing. Thus the question, where is the happy medium between having a large multi-row cooler while sacrificing air flow, verses smaller units that are mounted in a better flowing position.

Hopefully this will start an informative discussion for all. Thank you.
