I bought this car with an 18G already installed. For my needs, I decided to switch to a small 16G. With that being said, the 18G did not utilize coolant lines and my new small 16G does. The car has a 6 bolt block with a 2G head. I am not sure which water pipe is installed. There is a coolant line on the bottom of the turbo and the top. I have no clue where to connect them. I have looked at the VFAQ's and countless posts but I cant seem to figure where the connections are going compared to what I am looking at in my engine bay versus the pictures on the sites. Any help is much appreciated.

The water lines being attached were basically for endurance of the turbo. I've gone years without running water to a 16g and never had a problem. Have you considered just deleting the water lines?

How would I go about doing so since the lines are already on the turbo? And I might as well go ahead and hook them up since they are there, right?

It's really about preference. I, personally, would just cap off the outlets on the water pipe. There's one under the thermostat housing, one behind the turbo, and one between the turbo and alternator. You can buy rubber caps from Advance Auto Parts for like $3. The lines on the turbo and the oil filter housing can just stay open.

Rear line = thermostat housing

Front line = block, just below the water pipe. This is probably capped off on your application.

I second what is said above- the water lines are only in place to prevent damage in the event of a hot shutdown by someone who has never owned a turbo car in their life. If you have a turbo timer or as long as you don't live someplace where you're literally turning off a high-speed freeway and into your driveway you'll be just fine without water lines. Makes repairing / replacing the turbo MUCH easier, as well....especially for MHI turbo owners- you can have the turbo off the car by just unbolting the oil lines and removing the v-band clamp.

Thanks for the info guys. Not sure what I am going to do yet, but it's nice to know that I can cap them off without repercussions.
