My fifth gear pops out of gear at 3000 or more rpms if I dont hold it in. I had a shop look at it, and they said it would need a full rebuild because my forks were messed up and/or there is an aluminum wheel that would need to get replaced. They gave me a $700 estimation. BUT - this same shop mounted my front passenger side rotors crooked and 'forgot' to put oil in after they changed the filter, so I don't really trust their judgement. What do you guys think? New tranny, have a (different) shop rebuild it, or order the parts and try to fix it myself while my car is having the kit put on? Thanks. :dsm:

any problems with any other gears? I'd do a full rebuild and replace the 5th hub/sleeve as well as the gear if it's chipped up. Should cost around $700 for parts to do a FULL rebuild.

sorry, i just noticed youre n/t, youre prolly better off finding a used trans at a junk yard, it would be less than a rebuild.
