can i use a non turbo 4g63 in myu 95 gsx? and just put my turbo on it?

yes and no. The turbo will bolt up. But the non turbo block doesnt have oil squirters to cool the pistons. Second the compression is alot higher.

Techniacally you could but it is really not a very good idea. The compression ratio of the NA engine is much higher than the turbo engine, that is not what you want in any normal turbo car, especailly a DD. The na engines also lack the oil squirrters in the block that help to cool the pistons.

The only real differences between the blocks are the lack of piston squirters and threading for the knock sensor.

However, for you to use a non-turbo 4g63 will require you to use a 1g motor, which means you'll have to rearrange a few things. It will be similar to doing a 6-bolt swap, unless you use a 6-bolt non-turbo 4g63. In which case, it will be exactly like doing a 6-bolt swap. Only without piston squirters and knock sensors.

Of course, the pistons and cams are different too. Different compression ratios for the pistons, different lobe profiles for the cams, of course.

They do, but I don't believe it's threaded. I believe you have to tap the bung that's cast into the block. I may be wrong about that.

like every one else said, N/a 4g63 have higher compression and no oil squirters. On top of that, if you had the idea of finding your self a turbo 4g you can't just drop it in and hook it up... Any N/A dsm will not have the right ecu to run your turbo or have the stock boost controler to run that set up. Good luck with the swap though

i did something similar and there really isnt much info on how to do this, but i can tell you at least what i have done.

i took a NT 6 bolt block had it bored decked etc, and put a 2g head on it and oil case so the only change in my car would literally the block, and there was a knock sensor where it shouldve been, i read that if you use forged pistons with the NT block you wouldnt have to worry about the oil squiters. can anyybody confirm this?

other wise everything seemed to work out fine, we are just working out some small problems but my car has ran we just havent had the chance to drive it
