420a warning light help......please

Hey all.....

I have a warning light coming on in my 95 eclipseGS. I dont have the orig. manual for the car so I just want to make sure what the light means. Can someone look at the photo i attatched and let me know what it means? Also, if you can give me some advice on fixing the problem??

Coolant is low. Have you noticed your temp gauge going very high? Fill it back up and check for leaks... I recommend that you take it to a mechanic.

my temp gauge never goes above half way??? The coolant level seems to be fine. when the car is cold, it is at the bottom line on the overflow tank?? what do you guys think???

where is the coolant level sensor located???

It's in the coolant overflow bottle.

Is it possible the sensor is dirty? Any ideas on what I should do??

Just add some 50/50 coolant mix to the overflow bottle till its at the full line. It will go off.

Or you sensor might be bad like mine.

I woudn't pay attention the the over flow bottle as much as I would make sure my raidator itself was full.....look for any white residue ontop of the manifold because if it is leaking, it will turn into steam right away.
I'd probably replace my radiator cap for good measure too.

If the cooling system is in good repair, you should only have to look in the coolant reservoir.
