Is it normal for the fuel pump to make a winding sound all the time? Also, is it normal to hear the sound outside the car too? Thanks alot. If not, any advice?

Even with a rewired fuel pump (which I hear helps to 4G63 guys), mine still whines. At first I thought it was cool... kinda like a fighter jet sweeping its wings back; but now it's just getting a little annoying. :p

I find the whinning sound to be very reassuring. like a heart beat letting me know my talons still alive. cus theres been a few times where that sound hasnt been heard, an i wasnt moving

Yeah I run two of them and every once in awhile i dont hear them and I immidiatly listen for it (just get used to them) But I do love it when I turn my ignition on and I can hear both of them priming almost sounds like a jet engine starting up!

i hear they sell a sleeve for the 255... supposed to help with with the noise a little, not to sure if it helps out alot. just my .02 if u dont wanna hear it...

late 80s to late 90s chevy trucks have LOUD fuel pumps. you can hear them over exhaust. the whine is just part of the game though. ha
