420a Tensioner Placement Bolt Thread Pattern

Does anyone know the thread pattern and size of the bolt that is used on the 420a engine to tighten the main belt tensioner?

I recently overtightened it, and it snapped, and no automotive place has the look up on it. I even went to my local Mitsubishi dealership and they didn't know either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just order the bolt by part number. They should have that on computer. Or I would think they would. Give Chrysler a try as they had the same engine in their lasers and such.

if you go to a dealership you will most likely have to order the whole tensinor assembly and wont be able to pick up just a bolt.Go to a local junk yard and see if they have any of them there.Or ebay...

yeah... both Autozone and the Mitsubishi dealership said that when you order the tensioner, it does not come with the bolts... :\

I think I'm just gonna try the local Chrysler dealership...

now are you talking about one of the botls that goes to the spring loaded part of the tensionor???or the other piece that it pushed up on

I guess it's the one that goes into the spring loaded part... It's the bolt that actually tightens the tensioner.

so there should be 2 bolts there...take the other one out...the thread on those are the same....
