I'm looking into getting the Master Performance Engine Rebuild Kit 2.0 420A from Howell Automotive and was wondering if this would be the way to go to make my engine turbo ready. I'm not sure about the personalization section on the Howell Automotive site and am not sure what I should get. Here are the options for the kit.

4310012
4310014
4310016
4310018

10.5
12.5

Bore Size- Standard

Full grove mains standard
Full grove mains 25mm
Full grove mains 50mm

Rod Bearing Size- Standard

Oil Pump- Without high volume oil pump

get some comp cams or something

8.6 pistons (more boost)

Bore Size-20 over

Get your stuff checked out and then you will know what bearings you need. I think standard more likely

Oil Pump- With high volume oil pump or OEM

Honestly though I would stay away from "kits" like this and just put your own together.

my only problem is I dont know of any places new Shrewsbury pa that bore engines. you said 8.6 pistons help produce more boost... Also what website would you recomend buying from for best customer service and best price.

If you arent sure what to get then you are not ready to rebuild your engine. You need to have a goal in mind to decide what compression ratio you want. The machine shop you take it to will inform you as to what size the cylinders will need to be bored too, and nothing should be bored without your new pistons in hand. All the info is on this sight, just start reading.

There are trade offs. A bored out engine will have greater volume -> more power -> you need stronger internals. A stock engine can have a turbo but needs stronger internals than stock to have any long time running. It may run but not for long. The amount of boost the turbo generates is important because that tells you how strong to make your internals. There may also be some variation in the power band you want my minor differences in piston? I think. Different internals might produce the most power at different rpm.

I am not an expert but i have been on here several years.
