Resolved 420a MSD coil pack

I'm looking into replacing my coil pack. But I know nothing about it. I don't know how to tell if it's a round/flat pin, how many coils there are or anything. The coil pack I'm looking at is the MSD HVC-2-coil 7 series (pn 8261). In that picture I only see one wire terminal thing, which confuses me. I've got 4 wires (obviously) but am wondering how this coil pack works. Do I need to buy 4 of them and figure out how to mount them all? And is this actually going to help me out at all performance wise? I've seen a few people saying that it's not really going to matter cause stock coil packs will handle anything you put on, but will this truly be better than a stock pack or is it just something to make my engine prettier?

The stock coil is junk, you only need one, and you should have a flat pin connection. It will help quite a bit, a new coil and a better set of plug wires will smooth the idle and increase throttle response. If your going to upgrade the ignition system get a set of NGK 7090 plugs, they work great on 420as.

yeah i've already done plugs and wires i did ngk iridium plugs and msd super conductor wires and i noticed a big difference, it kind of surprised me. but that's good to know, thanks!

I've read good and bad things about MSD's coil pack for the 420a, would it still be better to get that instead of buying a new OEM one?

I've heard srt4 OEM coil packs work wonders on 420a

Round pins on 95-96 and flat pins on 97-99
