Sherwood Park,
No, this is not a 420A to 4363 swap thread.

As a TSi owner, a friend of mine has asked if I want to do an engine swap on his girlfriends car. The car is a 1996 Talon ES, A/T with a blown motor. He has bought a complete engine from a local seller from a 1999(or 1997 he doesn't know) Eclipse equiped with a 5 speed.

My question to you fellows is:
If I switch over the flywheel from the 1996 blown engine to the donor engine to accept the automatic tranny, will everything else bolt up with no hickups?
Is there any wiring / sizing differences between a 1996 420A and a 1997 or 1999 420A that would be of concern in this swap.

Basicly, is this swap feasable and worth my time?

hey guys ne help will be appreciated. will a 95 gs motor fit right in to a 95 rs car because the rs has a rebuilt tranny under 15k on it and the frame is in good condition also has the wire harness that goes into the tranny.

I am moving a 96' motor that was on an automatic to a 97' 5 speed. It all fits up right?
Hmm 96 feet, huh :hmm:? That's a damn big motor. Where are you moving it to?

Well, just for informations sake, if someone was to say, remove an engine out of a '96 automatic Eclipse. And say that maybe they wanted to put it in their 97 5speed Eclipse, they could do that. The only thing they would have to do would be to keep their 97 sensors (as in transfer them from their 97 onto the 96 motor that they are installing). Of course they would also have to transfer the modular clutch.

I mean, I'm just sayin'..........
