You again? Right. I'm sure that you, in all your weekend expertise, know more than the guys at Hunter who've done this daily since the '50s. Hey, maybe I'll just call them up and let them know that they're wrong. Shall I inform them that you'll be right over to rewrite the books for them?

Instead of arguing and being a jerk, why not sit down for a second and look at what you posted. You claimed that spec is 12 degrees of total rear toe-in. Do you have any idea what that would even look like? I doubt that the Hunter book is wrong. I question your ability to read it.

Go back and look at the book again. Maybe you missed a decimal point. Maybe you missed that the units are mm and not degrees. I know that you missed something because 12 degrees of total toe-in would make it impossible to get the car off the rack, let alone drive.

I give up. It's hopeless. I wasn't trying to argue OR be a jerk. I'm trying to stay composed now, seeing as how you just called me illiterate. But this isn't the first time we've had this debate. Those specs I listed are actually from our last debate. So to set this straight...I'm not the one who read the specs from the book. My father, who's been doing alignments for 15+ years, read them to me. He said, "6 left, 6 right." And then reitterated that it was for a total of 12. Maybe we're both wrong though (my father and me), so perhaps you should go look at the book for yourself. I'd hate to know that there are vehicles all over the Southeast from all these years driving around with undrivable rear toe. Btw, I believe these were your exact words, "Who the heck does an alignment in mm, anyway? This is America, dammit, and we don't care what Jimmy Carter signed or promised; we ain't going metric!" But nevertheless, here we are. You'll keep saying your thing, and I'll keep saying mine. I'm done debating over it. Continue on as you may.

Now, now, try to relax. Set your ego aside for a minute and just think about it. Is it really possible that spec would be 12 degrees of total toe-in? Of course not. So you must have mis-read the manual. There's no need to get all worked up, throwing your metaphorical hands in the air, and acting silly. Just think about it calmly. Odds are, you just missed a decimal place and it's 0.06 degrees of toe-in on each side for a total of 0.12 degrees. And what's two orders of magnitude in error between buddies like you and me, right?

12* would be insane to drive. You would wear out tires in a mile.

Who cares what your dad said, sit down and grab a protractor and plot 6* on paper compared to 0*. Now imagine your tire looking like that.

If I remember right I think its suppose to be 1/8th or 1/4" toe in in the rear.
